The Art of Birds in Sculpture
These bird sculptures are captured with great care and attention to detail, conveying the distinctive character and beauty of each species. This small selection represents part of a growing collection, including works such as Kingfisher Waiting, cast in bronze and finished using the Rutland colour technique, and a Turtle Dove presented as a bronze statue on a Lakeland slate obelisk.
These sculptures make thoughtful and meaningful gifts for special occasions, while also serving as elegant features for both interior and outdoor spaces. JOEL’s bird sculptures are regularly exhibited and continue to attract admiration from the public. As JOEL explains, “One of the things I love about working in three dimensions is how sculptures can be placed in different settings, with light changing throughout the day. Adding the right detail and setting the work in a certain way is when something special happens.” Public responses to these pieces often include words such as “splendid”, “superb”, “a masterpiece”, and simply, “I love it”.
If you have particular ideas, or want to discuss a feature for your house or garden, or public space, contact the Sculptress JOEL at the Tenon Studio.
